Nathalie Marin conductor

 

After finishing her studies at the “Conservatoire National de Lyon” (clarinet and musicology), Nathalie Marin left for United States to study conducting at the “University of South “(Tennessee).  Once there, she was hired by the local “Sewanee Chamber Orchestra” for concerts. Afterwards she was invited to a seminar in the “Domaine Forget” in Canada. Particularly interested in creation, she attended a course in contemporary music with Maestro Peter Oetvos at the “Bartok Festival” in Zombathely (Hungary).

 

From 1994 to 1996 she was resident conductor of the “Rencontres Lyriques de Luchon”. In the same period she worked with the “Israel Young Philharmonic Orchestra” conducting the orchestra on their tour, at the Verbier Festival in Switzerland. In May 1995, Madame Francois Mitterrand entrusted Nathalie Marin with the Charity Concert for the “Fondation France Liberté” in Paris.

 

Nathalie Marin has been assistant conductor of Maestro Michel Tabachnik for several years working with him in Spain, Norway and Italy. In 1996 she entered at the “Danish Royal Academy” in Copenhagen where she obtained her conducting Master in 1999. 

 

During this period she gave many concerts with the “Danish Royal Academy Symphonic Orchestra”, among which Empreintes by Iannis Xenakis in presence of the composer. In 1998 she was assistant conductor of the “Royal Danish Opera” in Copenhagen, she also conducted the “Sjaellands Symphonic Orchestra” (Copenhagen) as well as other professional orchestras in Denmark: “Aarhus Symphonic Orchestra”, “Aalborg Symphonic Orchestra” “Odense Symphonic Orchestra”...

 

Nathalie Marin made her debut in Italy conducting Falstaff at the “Teatro Mancinelli” in Orvieto in 2001. Between 2001 and 2005 she collected other international experiences: she has been invited by the “Nice Philharmonic Orchestra” and conducted various performances in the “Théâtre Antique d’ Arles” (France) with the “Europe Symphony Orchestra”.

She conducted Madama Butterfly with the “Karkov Opera House” (Ukraine) and then La Bohème and Tosca on tour in France. She conducted the “Pasdeloup  Symphonic Orchestra” in Paris and “Symphonic Orchestra of Chalon Bourgogne”. She gave a concert of French music at the “Teatro la Fenice” in Venice.

 

Since 2006 she is regularly invited to conduct the “National Symphonic Orchestra of Cuba”, “Solistas de la Habana”, and the “Symphonic Orchestra of Matanzas” (Cuba). In 2008 she has been invited to conduct the “Voralberg Symphony Orchestra” (Bregenz, Austria).

 

She recently conducted the "Orchestre Symphonique de Cannes " at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes  with the singer Nilda Fernandez.

 

Since 1991 Nathalie Marin has been artistic director of the “Ensemble Orchestral de l’Isère”, an orchestra whose structure allows variations from the chamber group to full symphonic orchestra and which is subsidized by the French government. She conducted this orchestra in more than 200 concerts throughout the symphonic repertory (Mahler, Dvorak, Mendelssohn etc.) in many French cities like Paris, Lyon, Grenoble, St. Etienne, as well as abroad.
